11. Chrome Extension & Browser Extension Privacy
11.1 Data Collected by the Extension
The SellerBowl browser extension collects the following data from e-commerce product pages you visit:
- Product Information: Product title, price, rating, review count, sales rank (BSR), category, seller name, product images, and product identifiers (ASIN, product ID)
- Seller Information: Seller name, seller ID, fulfillment method (FBA/FBM), seller feedback rating
- Listing Details: Bullet points, product description, variations, stock status, coupon availability, shipping information
- Page Metadata: Category breadcrumb, deal badges, Subscribe & Save pricing
- Authentication Data: Your SellerBowl account token (stored locally in browser storage) to identify your account
The extension does not collect:
- Personal browsing history outside of supported e-commerce sites
- Passwords, form data, or financial information
- Data from non-e-commerce websites
- Keystrokes or screen recordings
11.2 How Extension Data Is Used
Data collected by the extension is used to:
- Display real-time product analytics (SellerBowl Score, profit estimates, competition analysis) directly on e-commerce product pages
- Build a crowdsourced product data lake for historical price tracking, BSR tracking, and market analysis
- Power supplier search features (image-based product matching on 1688/AliExpress)
- Provide AI-powered product reimagination and design tools
- Enforce credit-based usage limits for premium features
11.3 Data Transmission & Storage
Product data extracted from e-commerce pages is transmitted to our servers at sellerbowl.com via encrypted HTTPS connections. This data is stored in our database and used to provide analytics services. No data is shared with or sold to third parties.
11.4 Supported Websites
The extension actively collects product data only on the following e-commerce platforms:
- Amazon (all regional domains: amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, etc.)
- Etsy (etsy.com)
- TikTok Shop (shop.tiktok.com)
- Shopify stores (*.myshopify.com) — detection only
On other websites, the extension only provides image-based supplier search functionality when explicitly triggered by the user (right-click context menu or hover icon). No automatic data collection occurs on non-supported sites.
11.5 User Control
You can control extension data collection by:
- Disabling or uninstalling the extension at any time via Chrome settings
- Logging out of your SellerBowl account within the extension popup
- Requesting deletion of your collected data by contacting help@sellerbowl.com
11.6 Permissions Justification
- storage: To store your authentication token and user preferences locally
- activeTab: To access the current tab's content for product data extraction
- contextMenus: To provide right-click “Find Supplier” and “AI Reimagine” options on product images
- cookies: To sync authentication state between the extension and sellerbowl.com website
- host_permissions: To read product data from supported e-commerce sites and communicate with our API
